Competition terms and conditions

Who should apply?

Startups who are hustling for a cause with passion in categories as diverse as fashion, retail, technology, healthcare, and more. We’re specifically looking for ambitious companies on a mission to positively impact the world and disrupt industries.

Submissions are open until midnight on Tuesday 6th June 2018.

 How to apply

Simply tell us what you’re hustling for on Twitter or Instagram via a 30-second video and tag us @FlamingoPunks with the hashtag #hustletofame.

All entrants need to follow @FlamingoPunks for a chance to win.

We’ll then create a shortlist of three finalists who will be asked to share their story live (without the support of a deck) to the judging panel at our launch event on Thursday 21st June 2018 – full details here.

The winning business will be invited to meet and work with Flamingo Punk’s planning and creative team in their London office to work on bringing their story to life.

 

Entry terms 

  • All entries will be moderated before publishing and not all entries will be published.
  • To qualify for the competition, businesses need to be registered in the UK, and over 12 months old with a minimal viable product that’s launched in market.
  • Entries must be submitted via Twitter or Instagram only, using the handle @FlamingoPunks and #hustletofame.
  • Shortlisted businesses will be asked for:
    • Full name
    • Business name
    • One high-res company logo
    • Email address
    • Phone number
    • Website and social channels
  • All finalists must be able to attend the launch event of Flamingo Punk on Thursday 21st June, from 7pm for the winner’s announcement.
  • By entering a video in to the competition, you are assigning copyright for the image to Flamingo Punk for use in all media relating to the competition – including all print, digital and social media.

 

Winner selection

  • Shortlisted entrants will be contacted by email for more information by amanda@flamingopunk.com
  • Finalists will be announced on Tuesday 12th June 2018 here, Twitter and Instagram.
  • Three finalists will be selected by the judges: Amanda Baker (Flamingo Punk), Callum Murphy (Flamingo Punk), Richard Blakesley (Capital Pilot), Antoinette De Laisser (The Legend Company) and TBC.
  • Entrants will be shortlisted and finalist by the judges based on the following criteria:
    • How original is the idea?
    • Is it sustainable?
    • How scalable is the product/business?
    • Does it solve a problem?
    • Is it worth investing in?
  • The three finalists will be required to:
    • Share your story live (without the support of a deck) to the judging panel at our launch event on Thursday 21st June 2018 – full details here.
    • Answer questions from the panel (for up to one minute).
  • The judging panel will confer and select the winner based on the following criteria:
    • Pitch: clear, concise, effective and creative
    • Originality of the idea
    • Judges professional discretion
  • Winner will be announced on Thursday 21st June 2018 at our launch event, LABS, 136 High Holborn, London, WC1V 6PX.
  • The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

 

Terms and conditions

  • The closing date for receipt of entries is midnight on Tuesday 6th June 2018.
  • To qualify for the competition, businesses need to be registered in the UK, and over 12 months old with a minimal viable product that’s launched in market.
  • Flamingo Punk bears no responsibility for any entry which is incorrectly submitted, lost, damaged, incomplete or received after the closing date.
  • Should Flamingo Punk be unable to contact a finalist within two days of the closing date, Flamingo Punk reserves the right to choose an alternative finalist, drawn in accordance with these terms and conditions.
  • Should the winner be unable to accept the prize, Flamingo Punk reserves the right to award the prize to an alternative winner, drawn in accordance with these terms and conditions.
  • All entrants to competitions and offers are deemed to have accepted these rules and agree to be bound by them, and agree to co-operate in any publicity that may arise as a result of the competition.
  • By entering this competition, entrants are deemed to have read, understood and accepted these terms and conditions.
  • If the standard of entries is not to a level deemed high enough by the Flamingo Punk team, Flamingo Punk reserve the right to withdraw the competition
  • If the volume of entries is not to a level deemed high enough by the Flamingo Punk team, Flamingo Punk reserve the right to withdraw the competition

Notes for editors

  • All applicants must have at least one year’s set of accounts filed at Companies House to be eligible for the competition.
  • £20,000 is not a cash prize. It will be delivered in Flamingo Punk branding services.
  • Final deliverables to be fully scoped with the winner.
